Mid Century Modern Vintage Atomic Mirror Shadow Box Wall Hanging Wood Metal 50s
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazingly LARGE mirrored atomic-era vintage light-up wall hanging bowtie shadow box wall hanging. Has two large and two small shelves to display your favorite knick-knacks. There are also two smaller mirrored boxes on either side for faux plants. There is a light affixed to the top which can be used to illuminate whatever you put on the shelves.
We are uncertain as to the maker - no labels or maker's marks present. 54.25" wide x 35" tall x 4 deep. The bottom inner shelf measures approx.
31.5" wide x 3" deep; the middle height shelf measures approx. 31.5" wide x 3" deep; each of the two smaller side shelves measure approx.
7.75" wide x 3" deep. The two smaller faux planter boxes each measure approx. 3.25" wide x 2.75" deep x 2.5 tall.
Condition: Overall this shadow box is in good structural condition. There are a few cracks in the smaller mirrors - two along the upper right-hand edging, and one along the lower right-hand edging (see photos).They don't particularly detract, and can most likely be replaced, if desired. The main mirror appears to be in great shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The insides of each of the small planter boxes have a small amount of adhesive residue inside them - we did not attempt to try to remove it, but again - they should come clean quite easily. The gold paint on the shelves shows some light signs of discoloration from where the previous owners had knick-knacks displayed - doesn't particularly detract, and is solely being mentioned for accuracy.
There is an old wire hanging mechanism attached at the top - while functional, we'd probably recommend replacing it, just to be safe. The light at the top works as well! It's ready for a new home!
