Large mid-century rise and fall mushroom pendant light in the style of Harvey Guzzinis Burgos light Acrylic and chrome 1970s. We love a bit of space-age design at Oriel Interiors, and this impressive rise and fall pendant light, which is nearly identical to Harvey Guzzinis iconic Burgos light, is a stunner perfect for suspending above your dining table or kitchen island. Crafted from acrylic, the stylish dome shaped shade has an attractive ombre effect graduating from a light mushroom colour at the top to a deeper shade towards the rim. A light diffusing convex dome of milky white acrylic protrudes from the main body of the shade, held in place b ya chrome ring, which adds a hint of subtle metallic sparkle. A metal peg sits at the centre of the convex dome, which can be used as a handle to raise or lower the light.
The black chord flex is attached to a Rolly rise-and-fall mechanism with a black acrylic ceiling rose. The lamp houses a single bulb with a bayonet fitting (max 100 watt).
The light emits a beautiful softly diffused light - we find that a white or opaque bulb gives the best results. The lamp is in very good vintage condition, with only some extremely faint surface scratches to the shade, which are only visible upon very close inspection. We believe the lamp to be in working order, but as with all vintage electricals, we would recommend having it checked and installed by a qualified electrician.
